Volunteers are the heart of the American Red Cross. You bring help and hope to those in need - offer shelter from the storm - and inspire by example ... around the block, around the country, and around the world.

The Red Cross needs your help. If you would like to volunteer for one of the following opportunities, please contact (973) 379-4198 to arrange an interview. Please note that all Red Cross volunteers must complete a background check prior to commencing volunteer service.
Blood Drives
Greet and register donors, serve refreshments. Training provided by American Red Cross Blood Services.
Disaster Response
Train to respond to local and national emergencies. Free training provided.

Health and Safety Instructor
Volunteers teach health and safety skills to adults, youth and community groups. Classes are continually created, expanded and updated to meet community needs. Classes include: Babysitter Training, First Aid, CPR, AED, Lifeguarding, Water Safety and Adapted Aquatics.
Staff Aides
Help the chapter to run smoothly by answering telephones, registering people for classes, lending sick room equipment, assisting with mailings and providing clerical assistance.
Transportation
Volunteers drive ambulatory clients to medical appointments, rehabilitation and therapy sessions.
Youth
Opportunities for youth include organizing blood drives, data entry and general chapter support.
